Hello BMES Families!
This week in grades 1-5 we have started our Code.org curriculum. We will be doing work from this for the next few months as we build our computer science fundamentals. If you would like to review the curriculum, you may find it here.
The first lesson was an "unplugged" activity around either debugging or building an algorithm.
After this, we will be working on Chromebooks to start our Code.org puzzles.
As always, any questions, click the Contact button and shoot me an email.
Howdy BMES Families!
The next 2 weeks in lab, grades 1-5 will be doing their iReady Reading and Math diagnostic tests for their homeroom teachers. If you have any questions about these tests and how they are used, please contact your student's teacher.
It was great seeing so many families at the Root Beer Social last Friday. I hope you enjoyed some of the activities that were in the Design Den.
Have a great week!

My name is Chris Schmitz and I will be teaching the Technology Special this year! I am very excited to be here at Blue Mountain, especially with our amazing new Design Den!
This is my 3rd year teaching elementary technology, my last two being at Red Hawk Elementary School in Erie. My goals for your students are to provide them with the fundamentals of computer science and design thinking.
